Winter Activities at the Lodge

We offer several services for our winter days here at the lodge that offer fun, excitement and opportunities to explore our wilderness.

We offer  back country snowmobiling and snowshoeing guides, cross country skiing, tube rentals for sledding at "The Bowl," ice fishing and hot chocolate!

Meet guide Greg More

Greg More grew up in northwest Colorado and northeast Wyoming. He's currently on a 2016 Polaris Axys 155" with a Vohk tuned Boondocker Sidekick. Greg knows the Bighorns like the back of his hand and can take you to some of the best stashes of snow around. He also rides western Colorado and southern Wyoming, and during the summer months he's either camping, riding his razor, dirt track racing or mountain biking. Greg is also employed at a machine shop in Gillette, Wyoming.


Meet Guide Jeff Shanor

Jeff Shanor is home grown! Born and raised in Sheridan, Wyoming, and has been riding in the Bighorn Mountains his entire life. He is currently sponsored by Ski-Doo, and the owner of Sled 307! He started working at Arrowhead Lodge in December 2016 as a backcountry guide, marketing assistant and maintenance. In the summer, Jeff is either fishing, hiking or riding his dirt bike. Other sponsors for Jeff include: Sledthreads, Valley Motor Honda and Nekkr.


Guides Petie and Jared Severson

Owner's Jared and Petie are also part of our guiding program. If you're interested in a scenic, relaxing, snowmobile adventure, either Petie or Jared will be more than happy to show you the Bighorns!

Meet Guide Jeff Vollmer

Jeff is our cross country ski and snowshoe guide. He is a lifelong avid outdoorsmen who lives and breathes the Bighorn Mountains. Most of his mountain activities include hunting elk, fishing our hundreds of trout filled streams, and most of all, backpacking the Cloud Peak Wilderness. He currently resides in Dayton, Wyoming, along with his family. You won't find a guide as knowledgable and passionate of the mountains as Jeff. He really looks forward to showing you his backyard, the Bighorns!

The Bighorn Mountains offer some of the most beautiful cross country trail systems around. Wheather you're skiing to get in shape or just out enjoying the amazing scenery, there's trails for you. Sibley Lake Recreation Area offers trails practically right outside our front door! Cutler Nordic Ski Trials are also less than a five minute drive from Arrowhead Lodge. There miles and miles of groomed cross country ski trails within the Bighorn National Forest!
